ZACH - Owner and Operator
Zach Rettig, the owner and operator of Unleashed Bakery and Style, was born into an animal loving family and, thus, from a young age experienced the joy and companionship which grows out of the unconditional love and devotion of having a family pet-not to mention the lessons to be learned through the daily responsibilities of caring for a pet which go hand in hand with pet ownership. However, the idea of actually owning and operating a pet-related business didn't surface until he was introduced to Unleashed Bakery and Style by a local area pet sitter.
After graduating from the University of Iowa in 2006, Zach made the decision to live in Santa Rosa Beach. His family had built a small cottage in Blue Mountain Beach in 2000, and he fell in love with the area when visiting on spring and summer breaks. Upon moving to the area Zach attended both Okaloosa-Walton College and Gulf Coast Community College attaining his EMT Basic Training Certificate and Fire Fighting Degree. He also adopted a kitten, Callie, and acquired an Australian Shepherd puppy, Bogey. It was in his quest to find a better quality food for Bogey that he discovered running a pet-related business might be his true calling. After all, if you're going to spend your life laboring at something, why not make it something you truly enjoy , believe in and look forward to getting out of bed to do each day. Not to mention the added plus of taking your pet to work with you every day. So, when the opportunity to purchase an already established business in the area presented itself, Zach jumped at it. When he's not at the store, you'll find Zach surfing or paddle boarding at the beach, riding his bike, running, or spending time with Bogey at the Bark Park or beach tossing a Frisbee or tennis ball. Oh, and let's not forget cleaning those cat boxes! In December 2008 Zach expanded his pet family to include another kitten, Steel, which he adopted from Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport, FL, while they were conducting an adoption event at the store.

Corrine - Chief Baker and Coif Maker
Unleashed Bakery and Style is a family owned and operated business. Zach's mom, Corrine, works alongside Zach at the store. After retirement she attended the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. Her love of animals (she also worked on an alpaca farm in Pennsylvania for several years - yep, that's her hugging Excellence) combined with her culinary skills made her a shoe-in for taking over responsibility for baking the store's handmade treats and confections. Once it was established that running a pet-related business was the direction they were headed, Corrine signed on as a groomer's apprentice with a grooming salon in Pennsylvania where she learned how to groom dogs and run a small grooming operation. In January of 2009, Unleashed expanded its operation to include grooming, with Corrine as the sole groomer.
